Abstract
PHLEOMYCIN, a water-soluble basic antibiotic, was discovered in Japan several years ago1,2. Recently, highly purified material prepared in this laboratory3 was evaluated for potential antitumour activity by a new lysogenic induction technique4. Since positive results were obtained, further experiments were carried out in rodents to determine whether the material possessed in vivo antitumour properties against various transplanted tumours.
