Abstract
The application of problem- based learning in experimental teaching of medicinal chemistry in the preparation of sodium 4- aminosalicylate was studied. Firstly,four teams of eight or nine students were formed to discuss the experimental schemes. Secondly,the experimental schemes were optimized and performed. Finally,the experimental results were analyzed and assessed. The success rate of experiments was improved from 30% to 82%. The present data suggested that PBL can effectively arouse enthusiasm of students' desire for knowledge,enhance students' abilities of self-study,and train their abilities to think and solve problems.
