Abstract
To study slope stability is the focus of engineering geological research.The commonly used research methods include engineering geological survey and drilling,stress testing,acoustic testing,and flat adit CT etc.The radon testing technology has not been widely adopted in slope stability study.Radon measurement method is used to test the Guanyinyan landslide distribution area.The test results show that the radon value on the original boundary of the landslide is generally high.In the landslide area,the value of radon is significantly high on the edge of the second grade landslide platform,and the leading edge of the landslide shear zone is identified to the west of the road.The same method is also used to test the slope adit of the Jinping dam site.According to the test results,the bank-slope adit rock mass structure is zoned.The slope rock is divided into the unloading tension deformation zone,close compressive zone,rupture dense zone and complete plate girder zone.Through its application to two projects,the landslide boundary identification and the zoning of the bank-slope adit rock mass structure,it is proved that the radon testing technology can be well used as a complementary method to provide more analysis data and thus provide solid scientific support for the slope stability study.The device used in this method is portable and easy to operate,and low cost.It must be noted to exclude the interferences from groundwater,desiccant and humidity when in use.
