Abstract
Abstract The new π-donor bis(phenylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene ( 7 ), synthesized via phosphite coupling of 2-oxo-1,3-dithiolo[4,5 b][1,4]benzodithiin ( 6 ) has been prepared in five steps starting from dimercaptobenzene ( 1 ) and chloroactyl chloride ( 2 ). Spectroscopic and electrochemical data of 7 are presented. Electrocrystallization yielded highly conducting radical cation salts ( σ RT = 100 S/cm) as fibers (typical dimensions: 10000x 50x20μm). Structural aspects, obtained on these salts by microdifraction techniques, will be discussed.
