Abstract
Abstract Boron trichloride is a colorless liquid gas or colorless gas (under pressure) that can severely irritate the skin, eyes, as well as the respiratory system. On that account, a risk assessment should be conducted and documented in each working place handling BCl3 to evaluate the risks related to the use of the product and consequently managed by a selection of the personal protective equipment (PPE) that matches the relevant risk. This chapter gives detailed insight into bromine trichloride and also sheds some light on the risk analysis and management procedures, such as usage of local exhaust ventilation at the site of chemical release, post hazard, and warning information in the work area. In addition, as part of an ongoing education and training endeavor, this chapter communicates all information on the health and safety hazards of boron trichloride to potentially exposed workers.
