Abstract
3-Oxotetrahydrothiophen dioxide is readily prepared from 3-aminotetrahydrothiophen dioxide by oxidation with hydrogen peroxide and subsequent hydrolysis of the oxime so formed. Other possible routes to 3-oxotetrahydrothiophen dioxide are discussed, and some new reactions of the ketone and the oxime are described.
