Abstract
With the ever-increasing push to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, the ability to convert carbon dioxide into a value-added product is enticing to manufacturers. Triisopropyl borate is one such product that can be produced in a carbon dioxide reaction and its uses in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as a catalyst for resins paints and varnishes, make it a promising candidate for chemical production. By using a trickle-bed reactor, triisopropyl borate and sodium formate was produced by reacting sodium borohydride and isopropyl alcohol with carbon dioxide.
