Tenside Surfactants Detergents
Abstract
Glycerol octyl and dioctyl ethers can be prepared by transitionmetall catalyzed conversion of glycerol and butadiene followed by an hydrogenation step. By reaction of these ethers with gaseous sulfur trioxide the corresponding ether sulfates are obtained. Said products are interesting surfactants for the use in detergents and cosmetics. A selection of results in application is presented.
