Abstract
Ethoxyacetylene I reacts easily with hydrazoic acid to yield 1,1-diazido-1-ethoxy-ethane II. The structure of this compound appears from the fact that aniline converts it into 1-phenyl-5-methyltetrazole, whereas the action of ethanol or of sodium ethoxide leads to the formation of ethyl-orthoacetate.
