Abstract
Chloranilic acid appears to be, for practical purposes, a specific histochemical reagent for the demonstration of calcium, forming colored crystals in the presence of calcium. Despite the disadvantages of only moderate sensitivity and relatively large crystal size, it proved to be quite useful for this histochemical identification of calcium.
