Abstract
Calcipotriene, an analogue of vitamin D3, is a widely prescribed topical treatment for psoriasis. Combinations of different topical treatments are frequently prescribed, and patients occasionally combine these on the skin. In some cases pharmacists or patients combine these in a single container to facilitate application, without regard for the compatibility of the agents. The calcipotriene molecule is relatively unstable and is inactivated by an acid pH.1 The purpose of this study was to determine whether calcipotriene was compatible with several other topical therapies used for psoriasis.
