Abstract
Abstract The corrosion inhibition on the austenitic chromium–nickel steel by 2-butyn-1-ol, which is an acetylenic alcohol, has been investigated in sulfuric acid. Therefore, the effect of concentration and temperature on inhibition properties was determined. It was found that this compound is adsorbed on the steel surface. π-electrons act an important role for this adsorption. The experimental results are in accordance with Temkin isotherm.
