All supramolecular architectures of 1 –1 2 involve extensive classical hydrogen bonds as well as other non-covalent interactions. The results presented herein indicate that the strength and directionality of the N H⋯O, O H⋯O, and O H⋯S hydrogen bonds between the acidic components and isopropylamine are sufficient to bring about the formation of binary organic salts. The role of weak and strong non-covalent interactions in the crystal packing is ascertained. These weak interactions combined, the complexes 1 – 12 displayed 1D–3D framework structure.
