Abstract
The crystalline and molecular structure of 2-amino-5-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole was studied by the X-ray diffraction method. C8H7N3S. Monoclinic crystals: a = 11.085(3), b = 7.544(3), c = 11.180(3) Å; β = 115.22(2)°; V = 845.8(5) Å3; dcalc = 1.404 g/cm3; μ(MoKα) = 0.325 mm-1; Z = 4; space group P21/c. Molecules of 2-amino-5-phenyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole in crystal form dimers through intermolecular hydrogen bonds, which are arranged in infinite layers parallel to the xy plane.
