Abstract
Bis [2-2(2,3-epoxypropoxy) hexafluoropropyl] cyclohexane and 4,4'-bis [2-(2,3-epoxypropoxy) hexafluoropropyl diphenylether are synthesized as the base resin of the adhesives. Modification with (meth) acrylic acid achieves photo-curability. Fluoro-epoxies and fluoro-epoxy-(meth) acrylates with low refractive index are obtained. UV-curable optical adhesives having refractive indices controllable from 1.45 to 1.59 are developed by optimizing formulations. The adhesives have excelent refractive index matching with optical members, and durability, and are available for use in optical components for optical communications
