Abstract
Objective: To develop an ion chromatographic method for the determination of 4-hydroxy-1-butanesulfonic acid in sulfobutyl ether-β-cyclodextrin(SBE-β-CD).Methods: The ion chromatographic separation was performed by using an IonPac AS23 analytical column(250 mm×4 mm),an IonPac AG23 guard column(50 mm×4 mm),a conductivity detector and 7 mmol ·L-1 sodium bicarbonate solution as the eluent at a flow rate of 1.0 mL ·min-1.Results: A satisfactory separation of 4-hydroxy-1-butanesulfonic acid in SBE-β-CD was obtained under the developed chromatographic conditions.The calibration curve of 4-hydroxy-1-butanesulfonic acid was linear in the range of 2-20 mg ·L-1(r=0.999 8),the average recovery was 100.2 % with the RSD of 1.3 %(n=9) and the limit of detection and the limit of quantitation were 2 and 5 ng,respectively.Conclusion: The method is simple,accurate and reliable.It could be used for the determination of 4-hydroxy-1-butanesulfonic acid in SBE-β-CD.
