Abstract
Abstract Ion chromatography with electrochemical detection was applied to the determination of bromide in snow samples. Greater reproducibility and increased sensitivity was obtained by coating the silver electrode with a highly insoluble AgI surface. Without preconcentration, a detection limit of less than 1 μ g−1 was achieved. With preconcentration, snow samples from a high-alpine site with bromide concentrations as low as 90 ng l−1 could be analysed.
