Abstract
A GC-MS method to quantify Cypermethrin (a-cyano-3-phenoxylbenzyl-(2,2-dichlorovinyl 2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate) and Chlorpyriphos-methyl (O,O-diethyl O-3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridyl phosphorothioate) and a liquid chromatographic procedure to determine Bifenthrin (2-methylbiphenyl-3-ylmethyl-(2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-enyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropane-carboxylate) in pesticide formulations were developed, respectively. The samples containing Cypermethrin and Chlorpyriphos-methyl were dissolved in acetone and injected onto a fused silica capillary column. Total elution time was 35 min. The samples containing Bifenthrin were diluted with ethanol, purified by means of a SPE-C18 Supelclean column and determined by reversed phase HPLC working with acetonitrile as mobile phase. The eluted compound was detected by an UV detector operating at 220 nm.
