Abstract
Concentration of potassium pyrophosphate is usually measured by means of gravimetry and titration in tin-cobalt electrolyte, but the measuring procedures are very complicated. Spectrophotometry was adopted to simplify the procedures. The effects of measuring wave length, addition of chromogenic agent, chromogenic media, acidity, temperature, time and interfering elements on the measured results were studied. The results show that spectrophotometric method is accurate and reliable which greatly simplifies the procedure of traditional methods.
