Abstract
Abstract Thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) react with 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde isonicotinoylhydrazone in slightly acid medium to form yellow- and orange-colored complexes, respectively. The uranium(VI) complex only is extractable into isoamyl alcohol and this is used for the simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) in the presence of each other.
