Abstract
Methods for quantitative determination of active substances in common oats were developed. The marker constituent was vitexin-2-O-rhamnoside. HPLC and capillary electrophoresis were used to develop the analytical methods. HPLC over a reversed-phase column (4.6 × 150 mm) with gradient elution detected over 40 constituents. Vitexin-2-O-rhamnoside had a content from 0.04 to 0.18% and accumulated in leaves and stems much more than in panicles. Capillary electrophoresis in a quartz capillary using borate buffer confirmed the results.
