Abstract
We previously synthesized 7-amino-3-tert-butyl-4oxo-4,6-dihydropyrazolo[5,1-c][1,2,4]triazine-8-carbonitrile (I) and the corresponding ethyl ester II by reaction of 4-amino-6-tert-butyl-3-methylsulfanyl-1,2,4triazin-5(4H)-one with malononitrile and ethyl cyanoacetate, respectively, in pyridine [3]. Heating of nitrile I in alcoholic alkali gave amide III in a good yield [4]. The reactivity of compounds I–III toward carbonyl compounds was studied, and the corresponding derivatives at the amino group and pyrimido[4′,5′ : 3,4]pyrazolo[5,1-c][1,2,4]triazines were thus obtained [3–5]. The goal of the present work was to examine the reactivity of the amino group in compounds I–III.
