Abstract
A laboratory experiment was conducted to study the degradation of fluazolate (JV-485) in water at acidic, neutral and basic pH at the rates of 0.5 (T1) and 1.0 (T2) μg mL−1. Water samples collected on 0(1 h), 2, 5, 8, 11, 14 and 17 weeks after treatments were processed for residues of fluazolate by GC-ECD capillary system. In 17 week study, dissipation was almost 99% at all the three pH levels in both the treatments. The degradation pattern of fluazolate in water samples indicated negligible effect of pH. The half-life periods observed were 18.3–18.8 days at pH 5.2, 17.8–19.0 days at pH 7.0 and 19.7–21.5 days at pH 8.2 for T1 and T2 doses, respectively. Dissspatton occurred in three distinct phases in water.
