Abstract
Summary The coccidiostatic activity of 4-amino-2-cthoxybenzoic acid (ethopabate) was investigated against 3 strains of Eimeria meleagrimitis all of which were known to be resistant to sulphaquinoxaline. Two of the 3 strains proved to be highly sensitive to ethopabate but the third proved to be resistant. The activity of the drug was reversed by the simultaneous administration of an equal amount of p- aminobenzoic acid. Ethopabate proved to be inactive against a laboratory strain of E. adenoeides.
