Abstract
Abstract The ethoxy methyl ester of N-(2,6-dichloro-m-tolyl)anthranilic acid, characterized by specific anti-inflammatory activity either when given orally or applied topically, effe c tively interfered with platelet function. The compound was able to prolong both the bleeding time from mouse tail and the electrical stimulation time necessary to obtain arterial thro m bosis in the rat and to prevent rabbit platelet aggregation i n duced in vitro by thrombin. These effects, not related to any interference with the true coagulation processes, were observed at doses lower than those active in the inflammatory processes and were long lasting.
