Abstract
Numerous additives have been used in the past for enhancing the heat transfer through the heat exchanger further which increases the performance of heat exchanger. Present research work it has been done to keep in mind to enhance the heat transfer with the help of different additives (2-ethyl-1-hexanol and 1-heptanol). To get a clear view of heat transfer analysis it is mandatory to calculate the different property such as thermal conductivity, specific heat, density, surface tension and viscosity of the additives it is used with the base fluid i.e. water. This experimental work examines about the effect of additives temperature and concentration on the surface tension of water. Surface tension of water with additives of 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20% w/w of 2-ethyl-1-hexanol and 1-heptanol concentration have been measured in the temperature range of 306 K to 328 K. It was seen that the surface tension of the water gets increased with the additive concentration for both the additives and it decreases with the increase in temperature.
