Abstract
Aim: To investigate the effects of xylometazoline hydrochloride combined with nasal corticosteroids in the treatment of allergic rhinitis. Methods: A total of 60 SD rats were randomly allocated into 3 groups,20 rats in each group. Using OVA + Al( OH)3to establish rat model of allergic rhinitis. Group B was treated with momestasone furoate, group C was treated with xylometazoline hydrochloride plus momestasone furoate, group A was treated with normal saline for 1 week. The eosinophils in nasal mucosa were observed using HE staining. Using immunohistochemistry( SP method) to detect ICAM-1 and IL-12 expression levels of the three groups. Results: Compared with group A,the eosinophils in group B and C were much fewer; compared with group B,it was much fewer in group C( F = 3 001. 500,P 0. 001). The expression level of ICAM-1 in nasal mucosa of group A was higher than those in group B and C,and that in group C was the lowest( F =4 458. 820,P 0. 001); the expression level of IL-12 in nasal mucosa of group A was lower than those in group B and C,and that in group C was the highest( F = 6 640. 770,P 0. 001). Conclusion: It is much better to joint xylometazoline hydrochloride and mometasone furoate to relieve allergic rhinitis symptoms than the simple application of nasal corticosteroid.
