Abstract
Abstract The present experiment was concerned with extrahypothalamic control of sexual receptivity. Cycloheximide, an inhibitor of protein synthesis, suppressed sexual receptivity in the steroid-primed ovariectomized rat when it was injected into the preoptic area. Cyclohexamide was without effect when injected into the cortical and medial nuclei of the amygdala, lateral septum or caudate nucleus.
