Abstract
The anodic oxidation and electropolymerization of 2-aminophenol on platinum, vitreous carbon and copper electrodes has been studied in alkaline hydroalcoholic medium using electrochemical techniques (cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry). This oxidation leads to the formation of homogeneous and adherent films, insoluble in usual solvents that can be of a great interest in the domain of materials protection. The analysis by ESCA and IR spectrometry has permitted the identification of the organic film and allows to propose a mechanism for 2-aminophenol electropolymerization.
