Abstract
The purpose of this work was to evaluate the anti cancer activity of a novel 1, 2, 4 - triazole derivative, 2- (piperidin-1-ylmethyl) -5- (4-hydroxy phenyl) -4- {[(4-dimethyl amino) phenyl methylidene] amino}-1, 2, 4-triazolin-3-thione against tumor induced in Swiss albino male mice. ED 50 for the test derivativewas determined as 10mg.kg -1 . Two doses of test derivative“2- (piperidin-1-ylmethyl) -5- (4-hydroxy phenyl) -4- {[(4-dimethyl amino) phenyl methylidene] amino}-1, 2, 4-triazolin-3-thione 10 mg/kg.bwand 20 mg/kg.bw were utilized for the analysis. The 5-fluorouracil parenteral dose of 20 mg/kg.bw was utilized for the comparative evaluation. Body weight, cell count, life span, biochemical and hematological parameters of treated group of animals were evaluated. The administered control group of animals were received the synthesized compound at 10 and 20 mg/kg.bw dose showed a considerable improvement in RBC, hemoglobin, packed cell volume and platelets and significantly reduced in WBC count and reduce the level of AST,ALT and ALP, compared with cancer induced group of animals. The results sturdily support the anticancer activity of novel 1, 2, 4 - triazole derivative, “2- (piperidin-1-ylmethyl) -5- (4-hydroxy phenyl) -4- {[(4-dimethyl amino) phenyl methylidene] amino}-1, 2, 4-triazolin-3-thione” against cancer (DLA cells) induced male Swiss albino mice.
