Abstract
Ethyl alcohol and pentadecane filtration through finely-dispersed layers of chemically pure magnesia powder was investigated. An appreciable increase (by 55%) in the viscosity of ethyl alcohol compared with its tabular value at a given temperature was found. The experimental results are explained using the theory of micropolar fluids which takes into account the noncentral interactions of polymolecular associates of polar fluids in gradient flows.
