Abstract
Abstract An aluminum 2,9,16,23-tetraphenoxy-29H, 31H-phthalocyanine hydroxide (AlPc(OH))–polystyrene (PS) film was prepared and its photophysical and photochemical properties were measured. An optical oxygen sensor based on the fluorescence quenching of AlPc(OH)–PS film by oxygen was developed. The ratio I0/I100 is used to describe the sensitivity of the sensing film, where I0 and I100 represent the detected fluorescence intensities from a film exposed to 100% argon and 100% oxygen, respectively. The I0/I100 of AlPc(OH)–PS film is estimated to be 1.04. A Stern–Volmer plot of the film exhibited considerable linearity in low oxygen concentration region (∼10%) and the Stern–Volmer constant, KSV is estimated to be 2.4 × 10−3%−1.
