Abstract
Abstract Cesium fluoroxysulfate (CEFOX), a unique anionic electrophilic fluorinating reagent, is being now intensively studied in connection with its use for fluorination of mainly unsaturated and aromatic substrates. It was first recognized by our group that CEFOX gave unexpectedly good results on fluorination of C- and N-anions. The effectiveness of CEFOX is even more surprising in the light of the fact that it is involved in the reactions belonging to the very rare class of unfavorable anion-to-anion interactions. The pronounced ability of CEFOX for anionic substrates fluorination is demonstrated here by several representative examples of CF and NF compounds obtained by this method The data obtained allow to suggest that CEFOX is one of the best reagents for the fluorination of anions.
