Abstract
Abstract The formation of intermediates during flameless thermal decomposition of 1,2-dichlorobenzene has been investigated as a function of temperature, oxygen content and residence time. For various conditions a survey of the occurring intermediates is given. The results show the crucial influence of the combustion parameter on the formation of monochlorobenzene which was chosen as a representative intermediate. Additionally it could be observed that the formation of chlorinated benzenes shifts with increasing degree of chlorination to higher temperatures and lower concentrations.
