Abstract
Abstract Pyridines and amines have been used as modifying ligands in the hex-1-ene hydroformylation reaction catalyzed by Rh(acac){P(OPh) 3 } 2 . Aldehydes (n + iso) were obtained in 80–85% yield. The active form of the catalyst has been isolated as the solid HRh(CO){P(OPh) 3 } 3 . Another complex formed in the reaction of Rh(acac){P(OPh) 3 } 2 with H 2 and CO in the presence of pyridine, Rh 4 (CO) 8 {P(OPh) 3 } 4 , is catalytically inactive.
