Abstract
Studies have been carried out on the introduction of vinyltrimethoxysilane (VTMS) into compositions based on butyl rubber (BR) and ethylene–vinyl acetate copolymer (EVAC). Optimum amounts of VTMS are determined at which the adhesion and cohesion strength of sealants increase. It has been shown that an increase in the properties of sealants is due to chemical interaction between EVAC and VTMS, as a result of which structures are formed with the nature of a semi-interpenetrating grid.
