Abstract
The hydroxypyrazole derivatives 2 and 3 have been synthesized by hydrazinolysis of 2-benzoyl-3-oxo-1,4-benzothiazine 1 by ring transformation of the thiazine ring. The mechanism of the hydrazinolysis is described. Products 2 and 3 have been characterized by IR, 1H and, 13 C NMR spectroscopy, as well as by mass spectrometry. The crystal structure of 4-[(2-aminophenyl)sulfanyl]-5-hydoxy-3-phenyl-1H-pyrazole 2 has been determined. The compound crystallizes monoclinic in the space group P2 1 /n with two ethanol molecules in the formula unit.
