Abstract
RETROSPECTIVE study was conducted of A all surgical operations at our institution between August 1962 and August 1964, in which intravenous hydroxyzine hydrochloride was used as a primary or adjunctive agent. In 225 cases in which this agent was used, 4 patients were found to have had postoperative hemolysis. This incidence was a matter of concern since moderate to large quantities of hydroxyzine are used intravenously in special anesthetic technics for such procedures as cryohypophysectomy.1
