Abstract
Abstract A method is described in which the chelating agent N -hydroxyethyl-ethylenediaminetriacetic acid is used in conjunction with 1,10- o -phenanthroline for the determination of ferrous iron and hydroquinone in the Hill reaction. The advantages of this method are that it is rapid, gives low blank readings, and is not affected by many substances that chelate or complex iron.
