Abstract
Recent clinical and epidemiologic studies suggest that indomethacin and other anti-inflammatory agents have a protective effect against Alzheimer's disease (AD). [1,3] These studies were motivated by evidence that inflammation and cytokines have a role in the pathogenesis of AD. Yet, indomethacin, as an inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis, affects a myriad of other responses in many organ systems. We searched the biomedical literature systematically to identify other possible mechanisms by which indomethacin might be expected to affect patients with AD, and to identify possible adverse effects of indomethacin. ### Methods and Results.
