Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the characteristics of neurobehavioral functions of rat exposed to sodium metavanadate.METHODS All rats were made by intragastric administration for 30 days. Then all rats finished two tests, including Rotarod experiment and Maze experiment, mainly reflecting sport coordinate ability, learning and memory ability.RESULTS ① A most significant decrease in the bar was observed in high dose group, but not observed in control group and low dose group. The difference between the three groups was not statistically significant.However,high-dose group was significantly lower than the control group and low dose group(P﹤0.05).② There was no difference in the time to arrive at the end between each exposed group control group. As to the times of mistakes,a significant difference was found.CONCLUSION Sodium metavanadate can harm learning and memory in rats, and motor coordination can be damaged when long-term exposure to high concentrations, which indicates that sodium metavanadate can damage rats' neurobehavioral function.
