Abstract
Abstract The infrared spectrum of dinitrogen tetroxide has been obtained between 5500 and 320 cm −1 for the gaseous, liquid, and solid states of this substance. The spectra support the planar structure of the molecule in all three states. Details of the spectrum and its interpretation together with an estimation of the barrier to internal rotation are given.
