Abstract
Abstract 1. 1. Sodium N -lauroyl sarcosinate is effective in reducing the over-all rate of glycolysis and seems to stop the uptake of inorganic phosphate from the medium. 2. 2. Hexokinase is strongly inhibited by this compound in concentrations as low as 1.0 millimolar. Aldolase is also inhibited, but the effect is not as marked. 3. 3. Even though SLS forms a relatively insoluble magnesium salt or complex, enolase is not inhibited by SLS concentrations as high as 5.0 millimolar.
