Abstract
Abstract Xenon oxide tetrafluoride (XeOF4) intercalates into highly oriented pyrolytic graphite, giving compounds of stoichiometry C8nXeOF4. The c axis repeat distances Ic are given by c =(5.11+3.35n) A (where n is the stage). Basal plane conductivities vary little from stage 1 to stage 3 and are approximately 15% lower than those of the corresponding AsF5 compounds.
