Abstract
The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) is an international intergovernmental scientific research organization established through the Convention signed on 26 March 1956 in Moscow by the representatives of the governments of 11 states-founders, to unite their scientific and material potential in order to study fundamental properties of matter. The Institute is located in the city of Dubna in 120 km from Moscow in the Russian Federation. On 1 February 1957, JINR was registered with the United Nations organization.
