Abstract
The kinetics of the gas-phase decomposition of bicyclo[4.1.0]heptane has been studied over the temperature range of 708–769 K at pressures between 1 and 17 torr. Isomerization to 1-methylcyclohex-1-ene, methylenecyclohexane, and cycloheptene accounts for 96–98% of the primary reaction products and occurs by first-order, homogeneous, nonradical processes.
