Abstract
A case of a 38-year-old woman with a mastocytosis syndrome is presented. The urinary excretion of histamine, methylhistamine and 1-methyl-4-imidazole acetic acid was considerably higher than normally. Treatment with l-hyoscyamine sulphate abolished gastritis, diarrhoea and pressure-induced pain, and reduced dermographism and itching. However, there was no effect on the abnormal urinary histamine excretion.
