Abstract
Multiple Bonds between Main Group Elements and Transition Metals, CXIV. — Organorhenium(VII) Oxides Alkylrhenium(VII) oxides of formulae RReO3 and RReO3 · L (L = quinuclidine) result from dirhenium heptaoxide and dialkylzinc compounds at low temperatures in THF solution. Unbranched, noncyclic organorhenium oxides prove to be less thermolabile than branched-chain derivatives, with the thermal stability decreasing with increasing chain length. Complexes with branched carbon chains normally can be isolated as 1:1 adducts of a nitrogen base, e.g. quinuclidine. A first chiral alkylmetal oxide and base-stabilized cyclopropyltrioxorhenium(VII) are also described.
