Abstract
Abstract The composition, structure and behaviour of the large salt complexes formed between thiocarbanilide and bismuth iodide were studied heterometrically. Structural formulae for the compounds are presented. Methods are presented for the exact determination of ca . 0.2 mg of bismuth in 20 ml of solution by titration with potassium iodide (or with thiocarbanilide). The analyzed solution could contain 95–99% of the following metals as cations; Ca +2 , Ba +2 , Mg +2 , Zn +2 , Ni +2 , Co +2 , A1 +3 , Cr +3 , Cd +2 , Pb +2 , Th +4 , (≷99.7%), U +6 ( ⩾99.6%), Zr +4 or Ce +3 .
