Abstract
This paper focuses on the use of a method of spatial interpolation to analyze microscopic slides of an Olympus CX21. The method used natural neighbor interpolation (NNI), that entails the analysis of random pre-determined points to interpolate and analyze the slide as a whole [1], [2]. The flood-fill algorithm was used to perform a differential count in conjunction with NNI to analyze samples of cells infected with Malaria. After analyzing selected random points, a summary of the whole slide may be produced. The results of the various tests yielded a percent difference of no more than 20% for the application of NNI.
